Caardvarks sketch day 7

Today is the final day of the Caardvarks Sketchfest Challenge, it has been an exciting and challenging week. This is one of the cards that I have made based on todays sketch.
Patterned paper by Crate paper; Caitlin Collection - Bubbly & Daydream
Button, flowers, sentiment & flourish by Hero Arts, Feather Grass clear set & All occasion messages. Martha Stewart border punch used to enhance ribbon. Circle cut using spellbinders nesting dies.

This is one of my interpretations of the Caardvarks sketch for the final day, I interpreted the circle as a flower and the smaller circle as a button. The flower is stamped on patterned paper (unknown origin) using Hero Arts Artistic borders for the flower, Scattered Leaves and Great Flourishes Messages for the sentiment, ribbon is American Crafts and white paper is embossed using the cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder.

Caardvarks sketch day 6

This was my first plan for the caardvarks challenge and is for a dear friend Kathy Racoosin (because she uses so many butterflies on her cards) they are from an old stampermagic stamp and coloured using copics. The vellum along the the bottom has been coloured with dorso crayons and blended. Happy Birthday was from a free gift in a magazine.

Well, this was a totally unplanned card! I went to get a butterfly rubber stamp and these little fellas were staring up at me from the draw! What else coluld I do but make a card with them..they are from penny black 'green line' they have been coloured with copics and the backing paper is by Crate Paper Caitlin collection - 'daydream'. Border punch is Martha Stewart and 'Lunch' was made using Hero Arts Clear alphabet.

Caardvarks sketch 5

Well, I am not entirely satisfied with todays effort, for the Caardvarks sketchfest challenge.

I only had 3/4 of an hour to play, due to motherly Taxi service duties!!

I didn't have any pink polkadot paper, so I used some wrapping paper, which is quite thin and hard to work with.
I thought I would use the Hero Arts Multi Pattern butterfly (as shown) to make the flowers and I added two of the palm fronds to make the third element. The pearls or coloured using copic markers. I also used a cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder for the white background.

Caardvark sketch 4

Ok , today I decided to try and do a double challenge....I wanted to make another card for Hero Arts this week and also a card that fitted the Caardvark Sketchfest day 4. This is the result, the card is of my son and daughter and is for my dad's birthday, from them.

Caardvark sketch 2

Todays Caardvark sketch canbe seen here http://caardvarks.blogspot.com/
This is my interpretation of that sketch. I have recycled the lace (rom some old knickers LOL - they were washed!)
I used the Hero Arts Pop Stems and Raindrop background stamp, a fun stamps classic corner and an MSE sentiment.

In Celebration of Learning

Those wonderful people at Hero Arts are having a challenge this week to make a card or page based on something you have learnt on the site. As a hostess I was asked to do a makeover on one of my earlier cards to incorporate the things I have learnt.

Well if you saw my earlier attempts at card making you could see that any changes would be an improvement!

You can view my card here on the Hero Arts Blog http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/

As the butterfly is made using fantasy film, I thought I would share a technique video with you on how it was made. I have yet to master editing so it is a bit basic, my apologies!
