Hero Arts Hostess Blog Hop 2011

Hello and welcome to the first post on the Hero Arts Hostess Blog Hop; I am so excited that I am kicking off this fabulous event, I can't wait to see what my Hostess Sistas have created along the way.

If you find a broken link, you can always go back to the Hero Arts blog for the master list of blog links: http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/. Also, please email tami@heroarts.com and provide the blog address that has the bad link so we can fix it. Thanks!

Our Lovely Friends at Hero Arts kindly sent me some stamps to play with over Christmas, so as you can imagine when the parcel arrived the crackers were immediately swept off the table and frantic stamping pursued......here are a few of the cards that were created during this frenzy.

Here is a closeup showing the layering of the petals

The main panel of this card was created by stamping the Hero Arts Large Blossom Cling Stamp (CG271) with versamark ink and clear embossing powder and then coloured with Copic Pens, B23;B24;B29;G21;G85;Y38 & YR15.  It was mounted onto Canford Paperwave Ocean Blue card  and then onto white linen cardstock, I then stamped it again and cut out individual petals to create dimension. The side panels were stamped with Memento Danube Blue ink. The sentiment was stamped using Hero Arts Tiny Thank you set (LL864) and the mounts were cut using Spellbinders nesting circles and Quickutz nesting flowers.

Here is a closeup of the vellum flower

This card uses the New Hero Art stamps; Friends and Treasures Cling Stamp (CG277) and Large Blossom Cling Stamp (CG271). I stamped the blossom stamp twice with Memento Pear Tart ink onto white card (don't you just love the names they give inks?) . Then stamped the image again onto vellum several times; coloured with dorso crayons & copics and cut out and layered to make the flower, the edges of the flower were glued and glittered and micro beads were then added to the centre of the flower. The sentiment was then stamped onto a separate piece of card with Versafine Smoke Grey ink, this was then mounted onto pearl grey card punched with EK Sucess border punch.

And now for my final card and thank you all for your patience in staying with me so far!

Here is a closeup of the back of the image, showing the effect of acrylic paint on the inside.

I love to work with many different mediums and wanted to get a solid colour on some recycled acetate (save your packaging you never know where it will come in handy!)  Claudine Hellmuth acrylics seemed the best way to go! If you mix them with Multi Medium Matte; the paint goes onto the acetate really well.
This card uses Hero Arts clear set Special Note of Thanks (CL499) stamped using Archival Jet Black ink and then the reverse side coloured with acrylic paints, shading was then added to the front of the card with copics. The sentiment has been stamped onto vellum and attached with glue (pearls are a great way to hide glue marks!).

Please remember to leave comments along your hop journey; because every comment left gives you a chance to win new Hero Arts 2011 stamps!

Now for some real talent, I bow humbly to the lovely Kelly Booth, your next stop on your hop.
