In The Woods

Those of you that know me, know I am a sucker for cute stamps and what could be cuter than this little hedgehog from Penny Black!

This shaker card was created using Penny Black's Santa's Hat stamp 4283K, stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured with Chameleon Color Tone Pens & Pencils, Penny Black's Antique Frame 51-397 and Serenity 51-158 dies for the frame (I trimmed the branches back- they are the only ones done this year the ones in the garden still need doing!), the sentiment is from Penny Black's Full Of Merriment stamp set 30-444 and banner from Shades die set 51-055. The snow is pin flair Iced Diamond & Snow Dust mixed.

If you would like to learn how to colour Penny Black cute Christmas stamps, I have an article coming out  in Card Making & Papercraft issue 175 which goes on sale on the 3rd October.

Thanks for visiting me today, I will be back soon with more fun and inspiration!

Flowers in Grey

I always reach for white card when I am planning to stamp and colour an image but for a change I thought I would try stamping and colouring with my Chameleon Color Tone Pencils on Grey card!

This was the result!

In addition to my  Chameleon pencils I also used Penny Black's Flower Cascade stamp 40-466 and Edge to Edge 30-164, Memento London Fog and Purple Grape ink and uni-ball white pen.

Still not sure that grey is something I will reach for to use as a base colour, but as they say if you don't try you will never know!

Thanks for visiting me today, hugs Cathy x

A Little Birdy Told Me

A little birdy told me that the new Penny Black Christmas collection is now available to buy.....oh my get ready to spend BIG!!!

I thought I would share something a bit different today, one of their brushstroke style stamps, where you colour the stamp with ink before stamping onto the paper, to create this winter robin scene.

I chose to stamp Snowy Perch 40-556 using Tombow markers 845, 346, 879 & 977 colouring in each element and then stamping to avoid the ink drying out too quickly.

I then used a Versamark pen to colour in areas where I wanted snow and sprinkled with Sparkle Snow WOW embossing powder and heat set, then I used a damp brush to spread the ink colours to give a base to work on.

I then mixed colours on an acrylic block and added more depth to the image using Tombow markers 885, 905, 947, 899, 992, 098, 346, 665, N15 & 533.

The sentiment from A Festive Season 30-442 was then stamped into the right corner using Versafine Onyx Black ink, and a frame cut from Snowflake Stitch Frames 51-375, the image was mounted onto a 6" square card blank and the frame added on top with foam pads, the dots in the frame were then enhanced with Diamond Stickles to finish.

Thanks for joining me today, I hope that you find something in the new Penny Black collection to inspire you, hugs Cathy x
