Not at all distressed, just HAPPY!

I love to play with different techniques and last year at a Tim Holtz workshop; I was shown how to do image transfer using Claudine Helmuth's Matte Medium.  This technique works great on mountboard and canvas.  I found a small image of a gorjuss girl in a magazine recently and decided it would be perfect for this technique, here is the resulting card with instrucions below how to do image transfer. I just love the distressed look that you get with this technique.
How to transfer the image, firstly cut image out of magazine to size of mount board or canvas, then apply matte medium directly to canvas and place image face down into matte medium. Press down over whole image to ensure good contact and then leave to dry. When dry, wet paper and carefully rub away paper pulp to leave the image behind on your canvas or board...It is that easy, I covered this one with glossy accents to give it shine before mounting onto a simple note card, that is ready to have a greeting added when needed.

Now for some other news, Penny Black stamp company have recently started a blog http://pennyblackinc.wordpress.com/ and flickr page http://www.flickr.com/groups/pennyblackinc/ where you can upload your creations and win prizes!  I can not believe how excited I was to win some free stamps after uploading this my first card to their site.

Congratulations on winning the PB challenge, Cathy! It was a great design and sweet card, so deserving of being recognized! I am really intrigued by this matte medium stuff - is it a Ranger product? Will have to go do some searching about it. LOVE the results!
