Slapstick Blog Host

I am so excited as I am hosting the blog today over at Penny Black, all week our incredibly talented design team have been working with Slapstick Cling Stamps; if you have not tried them yet; they give you the quality of stamping with rubber without the bulk of a wood mount - great space savers!

My first card uses this adorable little girl and having found my crochet hook, I just had to give her dress a lace border!

Materials:  Penny Black - Flower Girl 40-056, Circular Design 40-046, To You 30-067, Mix & Match Card Stock Sea Breeze 08-002, 08-003
Other: Copics -Hair E49, E47, E43 & E42 Dress BG10, BG23, BG09, V06, RV00 & RV10 Face E50, E51 & Cheeks R20.
Spellbinders dies; Labels 20 & Labels 8, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Memories Soft Pool Ink & Teal Dye ink. Glossy Accents, White Crochet Cotton, Making Memories Patterned Paper, Purple Wool & Claudine Hellmuth Sticky Back Canvas.

I started with the girl's dress and some patterned paper, having cut out the top layer I then crocheted the bottom of her dress. (Pierced holes along the bottom - not to close to edge otherwise paper will tear when you crochet. put a loop through the first hole and did a slip stitch and then 3 chain stitches, then a slip stitch into the same hole, then slip stitch next hole and then 3 chain stitches again ...repeating process all the way along the edge) Paper pieced the rest of the dress adding shading with copics. Stamped head of girl and coloured with copics.

Stamped flower on sticky back canvas coloured with copics and outlined edges with black pen to add definition then added to main image, added glossy accents to flowers on her sleeve and in her hair and leaves alternate parts of leaves again to add extra dimension. Stamped Circular design onto card stock and cut out using spellbinders dies, stitched round edges, mounted top frame with dimensional foam and then die cut and stamped patterned paper.

I wanted to show how versatile the circular background is and try out the only two Letraset Aqua Markers I own!

Materials: Penny Black - Circular Design 40-046, To you 30-067; Mix & Match Card Stock Periwinkle 11-003.
Other: Letraset Aqua Markers in Citrus & Mauve, Ink Potion No.9, Lavender Lace Liquid Pearls, Versafine Imperial Purple ink, Lime Green & Mauve Chalks, Dimensional Pads, Pearls, Quickkutz Dies, Tim Holtz Movers & Shapers Butterflies, BV04 Copic & Twine.

Coloured circular design with aqua markers, spritzed with ink potion no 9 and then stamped onto white card. Coloured large white spaces with chalk and then pierced circles around each shape. Cut out centres of circles with small flower die and then added liquid pearls to outside edges of circles. Mounted onto card with dimensional foam pads. Cut out Butterflies and edged with Copics added bows and pearls and attached to card. Sprayed ink potion no.9 onto stamp again without re-inking and stamped onto white card, this gave a fainter second generation image, stamped sentiment with Versafine ink and then cut out with die. Mounted onto card.

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments and support, please do hop on over to the Penny Black Blog and leave some love for my fellow design team members this week, their projects are awesome!

Wonderful details and descriptions Cathy. The intricate crochet work is beautiful and I love the idea of the canvas for the flower. And if that were not enough you had a second card to share!!
