Elegant Poinsettias

Today I would like to share a card that uses elements of a rubber stamp, just to show how versatile they can be and also show you how to make your own background style.

I have used penny Black's Christmas Narrative stamp 4209K and Circles and Lines 40-084.  The main image has been mounted onto Mix and Match Card stock Fern Green 05-002 available here.

The background has been white embossed with Circles and Lines and then each line masked and inked with Tim Holtz distress inks Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Barn Door.

The Sentiment has been inked using a Black Tombow pen and then stamped onto the card using a stamp positioner and coloured with Copics YG95, YG11 and R08. This has then been mounted onto white card that has been coloured with Fired Brick distress ink and then mounted onto Fern green mix and match card stock.

The flowers were stamped onto scrap white card coloured with Copics Y38, R29 & R17 and then cut out. The pearl has also been coloured using Copic Markers and Buttercup stickles added to the petals.  The centre flower has been mounted using dimensional foam pads.

I have also done a short video showing how to create the stripes on a similar card here

Have you been over to the Penny Black blog yet this week? All week the designers are showcasing elegant cards, so be sure to hop on over here and check it out.
