Felted Flowers

Penny a dear friend of mine, kindly sent me some felt flowers that she had cut from a die, I decided to incorporate one in a card with a scalloped border for this weeks Casual Friday challenge here and for Moxie Fab's Cool tools challenge here (my cool tool is my sewing machine!).

I stamped some leaves from Penny Black's 'Trims' transparent set 30-068 with Aloe Vera Versamagic chalk ink, I then filled in around the leaves with a small spray of flowers from the 'Flower Gallery' transparent set 30-031, to give a soft effect I used Memento London Fog dye ink and then coloured the flowers with Marvy alcohol markers YG642 and GB69. I added small dots to the centres of the flowers using a sakura stardust gelly roll pen #725.

The felt flower was then placed in the middle of the flowers and a small gem added to the centre. The sentiment from the 'Salutations' transparent set 30-014 was then stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink and the card edged with a fine liner pen.

I then cut a mat using Penny Black's 'Blue Lagoon' mix and match card stock and used Martha Stewart's Double Loops Punch Around the Page set  to create a scalloped border, the main image was then stitched onto this mount and finally mounted onto a white card blank.

If you want to see more flower cards I have a brushstrokes stamped card to share on Friday.

Thanks for visiting and for all your wonderful comments.

Hugs Cathy

This makes me think of Forget-me-not flowers & I love the way you have constructed the foliage around the felt flower. The Martha Stewart Double Loops is a super complement to the felt flower for there is the same kind of scrolling movement in both. I love how effective your black frame is.
