It's remembering the sketch

Today I thought I would share a card that I made for the Casual Friday challenge here, this week the aim was to make a card based on a sketch.  Note to self - next time draw the sketch, DO NOT rely on your memory......why because although I remembered to offset the image to the left, I then went and put the strip below the image to the right instead of the left...Duhh.

Well I thought I would enter the card anyway, claiming artistic interpretation (bit tongue in cheek I know).

And here is a close up showing the layered butterflies and flowers.

I have used Penny Black's 'Butterfly Suite" stamp 4182K, ' Think Spring' 3586E and 'Clear Skies' 10-002 and 'Fern Green' 05-003 Mix and Match cardstock.

The Butterfly suite was stamped onto white cardstock twice, coloured with Marvy Alcohol Markers GB691, B717, YG642 and YG647.  The butterflies and flowers were then cut out, edged with a black fine liner pen, shaped with an embossing tool and adhered on to the main image with dimensional glue.  I then added some Perfect Pearls to the butterfly wings to give a shimmer and liquid pearls to the centres of the flowers.

The sentiment was stamped and embossed onto a separate piece of card and mounted with dimensional foam pads, some twine and a gem was added to finish off (tip if your twine isn't the correct shade try colouring it with an alcohol marker).

Don't forget tomorrow is your last chance to enter for my stamp giveaway, details can be found here.

Tomorrow I will be sharing an all occasion card on the Penny Black Blog here, do hop over if you have time.

Hugs Cathy

I love the way that twine & gem picks up the colour from the flowerhead. The diemsnion is beautiful & I love the clean crisp lines of this especially against the black. The swirls of the 'p' & 'g' really build beautifully & (placed as you have) balance the leaves & butterflies perfectly.
