Do you ever see ordinary items around the home and think, hey that would work perfectly on a card!
This happened to me recently, when my husband was laying some foam insulator before fixing a wooden floor to our hallway; I took one look at the foam and thought it would make a great flower!
As the Casual Friday Challenge this week was Black and White, details of the challenge can be found here, I decided to incorporate my white foam rose into a card for the challenge.
I stamped Penny Black's 'Corner Piece' 3859H four times using a stamp positioner and embossed with detail black powder on to a circular piece of card cut using Spellbinders Grand Nesting Circles die. This was then mounted onto a black card blank created using the Grand Scallop Circles die, Elizabeth shows you an alternative way to stamp the medallion if you don't own a stamp positioner here. A rose using Spellbinders Spiral Blossom One was cut from the foam and added to the middle of the stamped design.
Thanks for joining me today, for other inspiration on all occasion cards, check out the Penny Black blog this week here.
Hugs Cathy

I love this - had to laugh at the foam saga. My husband saves medicine bottles & old fuse wire now & during our house renovations the workmen wondered if I'd like offcuts of tile.
The way you have echoed the scallops of the rose petals with the Grand Scallop edge is superb & the sheer classic elegance of this is terrific.
