Spot Colouring

Spot Colouring is a technique that I haven't used before, where the majority of the image is black and white with Just a spot or two of colour added to create a focal point.

This week the Penny Black team have been sharing examples of this technique over on the blog here.

This is my first spot coloured card!

Penny Black Materials: 'Raindrops and Kisses' Clear Stamp Set 30-088
I stamped the hearts down one side of a piece of card with Black ink with the exception of one heart part way down that I stamped red. I dry embossed the back of the hearts to give added dimension. To finish I added some sheer ribbon and gems.

Thank you for visiting me today and for all your comments, they mean so much to me. If you would like to enter my stamp giveaway please look at this post here.
Happy New Year!
Hugs Cathy

I found your description of the technique very helpful & have become quite excited by the whole concept. Your dry embossing adds such super dimensional detail to a very elegant composition.
