Clear Skies

The Casual Friday challenge for this week is based on paper piecing, details of the challenge can be found here. This card also is for the Lilypad patterned paper challenge here.

I wanted to try and have a subtle background with one or two paper pieced elements to add colour and dimension to my card. This was the result

The balloons from the Penny Black 'in the air' cling stamp 40-093 were stamped in Memento Summer Skies dye ink onto white card, I then stamped the balloons a second time onto Crafty Individuals Springtime background papers, cut out the balloons and the central hearts.  I dry embossed the back to give the puffy look of the inflated balloon and added stickles to the centre. I then lightly coloured the baskets with a copic marker, cut out the image using a Spellbinders Grand Squares die and mounted onto blue cardstock.

Don't forget to check out the Penny Black Blog this week, for inspiration from the new release of stamps here.

I would also just like to thank everyone for taking the time to leave comments on my blog, they mean so much to me.

Hugs Cathy

I love your added dry embossing to make the balloons more realistic. This kind of 'spot' artistry is brilliantly effective & I just delight in how versatile these Penny Black stamps are.
