Going Green

Going Green is the theme today for the Penny Black Blog here, check out the fabulous cards by Kelley Eubanks and Cathy Fong!

I decided to create a blustery washday scene, with the sentiment inside to say let nature do the work!

I used the new transparent set 'Go Green' 30-094 and stamped with Versafine ink, I then coloured with Prisma Pencils; Warm Grey 30%, Scarlet Lake, Light Umber, Sepia, Lime Peel, Moss Green, Mediterranean Blue, Indigo Blue, Yellow Ochre, and Golden Rod. To soften the colours I used Zest It Pencil blend, you can see how the trees have been grounded by pulling out the grass colour this way.

I then mounted it onto a piece of 'Fall Festival' 16-001Mix and Match Cardstock that had been cut with Spellbinders Wonky Labels and embossed with Provocraft Swiss Dots embossing folder. I then added blue twine to the edge of the image and mounted onto 'Summer Sun' 17-001 Mix and Match Cardstock.

Inside the card:-

It is such a satisfying feeling to be able to get a wash dry with a blustery sunny day,  beats using electric for the dryer!

This is such fun & I love your whole concept of going green with letting nature do the drying. I particularly like your grounding of the trees & the way you accented the edges of the image panel using the blue twine - it really made me think of the effectiveness of colour theory & I love the way it picks up the colour of the jeans & socks plus helps to give the sense of the rope/cord for the washing line.
