Just because it's Friday

Hi everyone and happy Friday, spring is around the corner, I can feel it; so I thought what about a card with flowers to share with you today!

To create the card shape, I used Tim Holtz Alterations Baroque die and 'Olive Grove' 04-003 Mix and Match cardstock (to get the outer layer I used a button to create a bigger size - will do a video soon explaining how).

Penny Black's 'Poppies' 3949H was repeatedly stamped along the side and bottom edge of white cardstock using Memento Rich Coco Ink.  they were then coloured in with Marvy alcohol markers YG647, YG642, OY841,OY644 and Copic Y38.  The sentiment 'Just a Note' 1793D was stamped in versa mark ink and embossed using Olive Powder from WOW.

I then distressed the edge of the card with Tim Holtz Wild Honey distress ink and added Lemon Yellow liquid pearls to the centres of the flowers. To finish off I added three gold pearls from Mark Richards.

I hope you had a good week and that the sun is shining for you.

Hugs Cathy

I look forward to seeing the 'button' tutorial - intriguing. The dark green edging & sentiment is a terrific combination with the orange of the poppies & I love your use of the Cocoa Memento. The combination of liquid pearls with the Mark Richards ones gives lovely variety & I like your sizing & shaping of the liquid pearls - I don't use them enough for I struggle with shaping.
Have a lovely weekend.
