Hi everyone, did you know the designers over on the Penny Black blog will be sharing Mini card inspiration today, you can check out their designs here.
My mini cards tend to be cute, so I thought I would challenge myself to create a floral mini card and the new 'Flower Garden' 4242K stamp seemed an ideal choice.
To create the book effect I cut a few pages out of a dictionary using Spellbinders Labels Twenty Three and distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Antique Linen and Tea dye inks. I then stamped flower garden onto white card and distressed as before. The flowers and leaves were then coloured with Copic markers and the pages curled and layered with foam pads to create dimension, as seen below.
The 'book' was then mounted onto 'Summer Sun' 17-003 Mix and Match cardstock that had been stamped with 'Warm Wishes' 40-074
This was then mounted onto 'Fall Festival' 16-002.
Have a creative week.
Hugs Cathy

That is such a great idea using the book also I love the gorgeous colours on this card :)
So effective! If it wasn't a dictionary I might have been tempted to leaf through it!
That is just terrific with the dimension & appearance of a book with the mulriple layering of real book pages. The colours are beautiful.
