It's a Mug Thing!

Hi the other week I shared how to create a stamped ceramic egg cup, details can be found here.

So I thought I would share another technique that allowed me to use Copic Markers to colour the image, I simply inked and embossed the image onto the Lazertran Decal Paper before colouring. Then once applied to the mug varnished to seal.

Here are the two mugs that I created
Front

Back

This mug uses 'Tete-a-tete' 4258K
Second Mug Front

Back

This mug uses 'Words so Sweet' 4256K, these are little gifts that I have sent to some lovely people.  If you have a go at making these yourself; please remember that they can only be hand washed.

Thanks for visiting me today.

Wow Cathy I love the way you use your stamps on a variety of things, and not just card. These mugs are so clever.

These are fab, I would love more detail on the embossing part. Did you stamp onto the special paper and then use embossing powder?? I have some of this paper ordered (I think) its called something different on ebay.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Caz, yes I stamped onto the paper with memento ink if my memory serves me right and the added embossing powder and heat set. As for the vanish, I have in the past used a ceramic varnish from country love ceramics, but as I had run out and they didn't have any in Hobbycraft I tried plastikote fast dry enamel , it says it is suitable for ceramics but I was not as impressed with the results, I may not of sprayed enough layers though!

Thank you Cathy for your replies. I have my Lazertran and I have some brush on TopCoat varnish so I am crossing everything that it will work :) I have a white tile to practice on and am currently sitting in my shed trying to decide what to stamp on it! :)
