With Sympathy

It is always hard to create a card for such a sad time, as someone passing away.  The design team at Penny Black have created some examples to help if you need to make one here.

I wanted to create a card that had a softness to it and so chose to use a vellum overlay on top of the coloured petals.

I stamped the tulip from 'Delicate Florals' 40-103 with Bamboo Leaves Memento ink, and then partially cut the circle using a circle Spellbinders die (the flower petals and stems remain by not putting it all the way through the die cutting machine).  The flowers and leaves were then coloured with Copic Markers, and the Sentiment from the Transparent set 'Gratitude' 30-105.

This was then mounted onto the circle card blank that was created using Spellbinders Circle and Lacey circle dies using 'Summer Sun' 17-001 and 'Spring Meadow' 06-003 Mix and Match Cardstock.

To soften the whole effect the petals were stamped onto vellum with Versamagic Aloe Vera Chalk ink, cut out and mounted onto the card with dimensional glue.  A few pearls were then added to finish off.

Thank you so much for visiting me today and for taking the time to leave a comment, they really do make me smile.

Hugs Cathy

This is just beautiful & I love the softness of the vellum. The elgance of the white, green & yellow with the flowing script picking up the curve of the the stem PLUS the circular shape is gorgeous & very soothing. As it should be at such a time - tact & delicacy with reverence.
