Ironing Starch for Craft Faux Metal!!!!

Did you know household products can also double up as great crafting mediums?  Well today I thought I would share a technique using Spray Ironing Starch to create a faux metal background effect as can be seen in the card below.

Used: "Sparklers" 4040K & "Flourish Thank You" 4175F

I love it when something from home can be used in crafting, do you have any tips on household products you could share, do let me know and I might give them a try?

don't forget I have a glittery photo tutorial for you tomorrow.

What an awesome idea Cathy. I don't have mica powder but might try this with PearlEx powders. It really gives an amazing metal look

Intriguing technique & I love the way you angled the sparklers stamp the opposite to the wonky square. The colour mix is terrific with the pewter & I like your way of overcoming the line syndrome using ribbon - the colour works beatifully with the micas.
