Stretching My Stamps

Hi everyone, today is my day on the Penny Black Blog; if you would like to find out a bit more about me hop on over here.  There is also a halloween project using the same stamp that I have used in this post, here is a sneak peak.

I love getting new stamps but sometimes I find that I am blinkered in how to use them; this is especially true for halloween and Christmas stamps.  So today I thought I would share how to make a non halloween card with the 'Haunted House' 40-146 stamp and all I needed to achieve this was one other stamp set; 'Bubbly' 30-012!

Can you guess where my inspiration came from?   I just love the message in the Disney Film Up and so wanted to recreate the house.

I multiple stamped the balloons (minus the cat) using a mask to eliminate all the strings, then coloured with copics and hand drew the mesh.  To get it to stand above the house I used a few pieces of black wire and then black thread for the other balloons.  The house was stamped(I masked the top and then the bottom to take out one layer), coloured with Copics and cut out.

So you see you can use your stamps all year round!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hugs Cathy

That's such a great idea and shows what you can do with a bit of thought and application.. You have a lot of patience I think with cutting masks!

Brilliant!! Love how you detailed the balloons and the mesh..now that takes patience! Great advice on the BP blog about buying quality stamps instead of cheap ones...wish someone had told me that when I first started stamping! Detail is everything!
