Technicolour Pinterest Inspired

Recently on the Penny Black Blog, the design team were asked where we seek inspiration when we are in a 'stamping slump', some of the design team turn to Pinterest for inspiration and so I thought I would make a card today based on inspiration from one of my Pinterest boards, to see the original pin click here.  After finishing the stamping I thought the image needed something else so I thought about the Moxie Fab card design ideas and decided to add lots of repeated dots using liquid pearls, so I am going to enter this card in the Repetition challenge here.

Materials Used (this is a long list!):-
Penny Black 'Autumn Tree' 40-163, 'Storm' Mix and Match Card 01-001 and; 01-003
SRM stickers 'Hello' 53002, Imagine 'Goose Bumps', Ranger 'Glossy Accents', Clear Embossing Powder, Signo White Gel Pen, Marvy Red and Brown alcohol pens, 'Coffee Bean' Brilliance ink, Ranger Distress inks; Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey, Salty Ocean, Chipped Saphire, Tumbled Glass, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Barn Door.  Ranger Liquid Pearls; Cantaloupe, Buttercup, Key Lime, Ocean Blue, Baby Blue, Rouge, Flamenco and Petal Pink. Faber Castell Design Memory Craft Pitt Artist Pens; Bright Yellow Glaze, Orange Glaze and Cadmium Yellow, Stampers Big Brush Markers; Cobalt Turquoise, Cobalt Blue, May Green, Leaf Green, Light Cobalt Turquoise, Deep Scarlet Red and Madder Pink Lake.

I stamped the tree onto white card using coffee bean ink and embossed with clear powder.  I then coloured in the leaves and trunk and sealed with glossy accents. The tree was then cut into three equal strips and the distress inks added using a blending tool.  Liquid Pearls and white gel pen was then dotted randomly over each piece. Here you can see the dots more closely.

Once dry I sprayed each section with Goose Bumps - it doesn't show in the photo but it adds a really cool effect. The sentiment stickers were then added to the bottom of the card and then it was mounted onto a black mount and a white card blank.

I really did find Pinterest inspirational, so next time you are in a 'stamping slump' or want to try something different give it a try! And don't forget to follow the card design advice over on Moxie Fab, it really does show you how to make a card better!

For todays Entry to my giveaway (full details here) just leave a comment at the end of this post.

Hugs Cathy

Love the way you used different colours of the liquid pearls for the dots & I'm slowly learning how to get my head round Pinterest. The Moxie Fab series is such a useful guide & I do love seeing your ways with the various elements.

Lisa Goose bumps is a product made by Imagine, I purchased it whilst on a trip to the USA, it is a spray gloss with mica pigment. When you use the spray it gives a goosebump glossy effect to the card.  It looks really cool in real life!

If ever you decide to try it I would strongly advise that you wash the spray mechanism after each use to avoid clogging.

Hope this answers your question.
