Winter Wonderland

Happy Friday everyone, so glad that the weekend is almost upon us...today the Penny Black team have been inspired by the new Penny Black Pinterest Board here and have created some stunning cards and projects to share with you, to see them all hop on over to their blog here, there is a rumour that there is a new challenge too!

My card is based on this Pinterest picture, I just love the warm grey sky against the muted brown buildings and then the focal point of the big tree in the foreground, and doesn't the snow look realistic all different sizes?

I wanted to recreate the snowy sky and so used Crystal Pattern 40-162 with Memento London Fog ink, the houses were stamped and embossed using Village Christmas 4205L and coloured with Copic markers, I drew in a path with the markers to draw the eye across the card(these were masked before the sky was stamped).  The Berry Red and Snow White 4202L stamp was then stamped and embossed with black powder to create a foreground.

Spellbinders nesting squares were used to give an embossed edge to the card and the sentiment from Christmas Cheer 30-140 was stamped to finish off.

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for visiting me and for leaving such warm comments.

Hugs Cathy

It's a lovely scene with the tree branches & your path - that really does draw the eye. A really super use for Crystal Pattern too - not one I'd have thought of.
Have a super weekend too.
