World Card Making Day

Today all around the world crafters are sharing their creations for World Card Making Day, the Penny Black design team are no exception and you can see all their amazing creations on the Penny Black blog here. There will be extra posts during the day and lots of prizes so do try and any hop on over there!

We were tasked with creating a card using one of several sketches, this is the sketch I chose to work with

and here is the card I created based on the sketch.

I stamped the flower from Flowers Sweet 30-096 onto scrap white card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I then coloured the flower with Copic Markers Y21, Y38, YR16 and YR68 and the leaves with YG03, YG17 and YG67.  I then cut out the flowers and leaves and shaped with an embossing tool to add dimension.

I mounted a piece of Madison 80-001 patterned paper onto Fall Festival 16-002 Mix and Match card and stitched around the edge (this is hard to see in the photo).  I then cut the top piece of card using Summer Sun 17-003 Mix and Match card using Spellbinders Labels Twenty.  Another strip of Summer Sun 17-003 card was then stamped with the sentiment from the Gratitude 30-105 transparent set using Versafine Onyx Black ink.

All elements were then adhered to a Storm 01-001 Mix and Match cardstock base and sheer and satin green ribbon added to finish off.

Thanks for visiting me on world card making day, I have some more flowery goodness to share with you all next week.

Hugs Cathy

The colour combination is extraordinary & I love the way that you translated the sketch. The green ribbons are a delightful touch.

I love the thought that we are all creating together! That's why we love this craft so much, right? I am definitely going to try and make time to play this weekend! Love this sketch and how you interpreted it, Sista!
