I often think I have a lot to be thankful for, especially when watching the news and seeing so many worse off than me around the world. I am blessed with a loving family and friends that are always there for me, so when we were asked to make a Pinterest inspired card for the Penny Black blog today, I wanted to make a card for someone close to me. I was inspired by this colour scheme here (mainly because it has turned cold here and this reflected the temperature in my craft room....Brrrr. I will be thankful when summer returns too!
To create this card I stitched a piece of Madison Paper 80-001 to a square card blank, I then cut a kraft Spellbinders Labels Fourteen and distressed the edges with Frayed Burlap ink.
On a separate piece of brown paper I stamped Letter Background 1999L using Versamark ink and embossed with Wow Vanilla White embossing powder. Awakening 4237K was also stamped onto brown card and embossed with green embossing powder (it would better with a lighter shade of green powder but sadly I didn't have any). Cut around the edge and then adhere elements to card.
The Butterfly from Social Butterfly 30-116 was then stamped with green pigment ink onto Sea Breeze 08-001 Mix and Match card, embossed with clear powder cut out and mounted onto the card with a dimensional foam pad.
The sentiment from So Blessed 40-132 was then stamped onto a circle of Madison paper 80-001 the edges distressed with Frayed Burlap ink and mounted onto a Spellbinders die cut using Sea Breeze 08-001 card.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, hugs
Cathy

Love this card Cathy - they could also be the colours of the beach - brown sand, blue sky and green of summer grass ;-).
Blessings
Maxine
