Creating Gilt Leaves

I mentioned in this post, that I had been playing with gilding flakes and had tried a method where I added the gilding glue directly to the stamp. This time I stamped the image onto the card first and then added the gilding glue to create some gorgeous autumnal leaves.  I have also made a mini tutorial to show you how easy it is to do.

Gilt Leaf

Used: Fall Festival 16-002, Music Background 2025M and Foliage Fancy 30-138.

Here is another card using the leaf created in the video, I also used Salutations 30-014 for the sentiment.

Gilded Thanks

It really is easy to use, I hope you have found this tutorial helpful and will have a go!

    1. Hi Kate, there is no brand name on the flakes, I bought mine in an art store, I just googled gilding flakes and found these which are the same as the ones I used http://theartistsstore.com/shopping/pgm-more_information.php?id=1286

The same is true of the gilding glue, I bought it at a craft fair and so don't have much detail on the bottle, but again a quick google search has unearthed some other makes of gilding glue here is one I found http://www.studioartshop.com/acatalog/info%5f2936%2ehtml

I MUST POINT OUT THAT I HAVE NOT SHOPPED AT EITHER OF THESE LINKS AND CAN NOT VOUCH FOR THEIR SERVICE. Hope this helps.

  6. I've always been put off gilding by the idea of covering my stamps with glue & then having to clean them off - this has converted me to giving it a go; beautifully clear instructions & information. I love the way you have mounted the panels on base cards to reflect the colours in the gilding. Think this set is going to have to go onto my wish list. Who can go wrong with leaf images?

  8. I really love it. I would never have thought of embossing over the flakes. I must get my gilding flakes out from the back of the cupboard.
