Mothers Day Sunday

Hi everyone, this Sunday is Mother's day here in the UK and I was asked by my Husband one evening if I could "make something' for one of his work colleagues, but he needed it for the next day...no pressure there then!

Well my thoughts turned to something that would be quick to do yet still look nice, the Penny Black new silhouette background stamps were the perfect choice.  This is what I came up with (sorry the picture is a bit dark, I had to take the photo of it that evening) ...

Mother's Day Blues

This was so quick to do, I inked Glory of Modesty 40-206 with Versamark ink, stamped onto white card and embossed with clear embossing powder.

I then took, a make up sponge and coloured with Tim Holtz Distress inks, the stems with Bundled Sage and the flowers with Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass. The sentiment was then stamped using So Blessed 40-132 and Black Staz On ink. Edited to give more detail as requested  I cut a small piece of makeup sponge and placed it in a crocodile clip tool holder; the sponge was then dipped in the bundled sage ink and then the sponge rubbed directly onto the stems, I then used another piece of sponge and dipped it into the tumbled glass ink and then rubbed it over the flowers, the process was then repeated with salty ocean and the centres of the flowers coloured, by adding the ink in a swirling motion it blends the colours as you go along.

Blue sheer ribbon, green satin ribbon and pearl twine were then wrapped around the card and a bow added. This was then mounted onto dark blue card and then onto a white card blank.  To finish off I embellished the card with a fabric and wood butterfly and some coloured pearls.

I wish I had more time to be creative, but thought this turned out ok with the little time I had available.

Have a great weekend everyone and to all Mothers Happy Mother's day for Sunday.
Hugs
Cathy

Delightful with the layering of the ribbons/twine & I love that little butterfly. It's a lovely technique to use with that type of stamp & I can't get over the super colours of this. Just terrific.

I absolutely adore the card! Do not understand how you coloured the imbossed image though. Do you have the time to describe it I would be so happy!
