Hero Arts Blog Hop

Hi all today is one big exciting blog hop over on the Hero Arts Forum, check out the discussion thread here to play along and hop through some amazing blogs for tons of inspirtion. http://www.flickr.com/groups/heroarts/discuss/72157621540239359/ , one of the members is even having a giveaway here http://littleshopofcrafts.blogspot.com/2009/07/i-heart-hero-arts-blog-hop.html

I have been crafting for a long time and discovered Hero Art stamps some years ago when I bought a set containing various sea creatures. I made cards for family and friends for many years and then one day I was asked to teach a class in a local craft shop on my day off work. My card making really took of then and I became a Stamping Snob, favouring the better quality images and stamps so that my projects looked more professional (Hero Arts are of THE BEST QUALITY). I then had to give up work for health reasons and card making has kept me going during this time. You would not believe how happy I was to discover the Hero Art Blog last April and how many amazing new friends I have made on the Blog. So thank you all for being so wonderful!

I have made a card to thank Hero Arts for being such a generous company, they offer so many amazing prizes every week and throw in the best free tutorials and inspiration...a crafter really doesn't need to go anywhere else! This was not the original card I made for the hop (I gave that away yesterday to a friend and forgot to photgraph it first!) So this is a quickie that I made last night - Oh and in my rush to get it here I forgot the most important bit the Thank You sentiment!!!!.

I have used the following Hero Arts Stamps CL284 Friends (the reverse side of the circle stamp)

CL282 Feather Grass & S5213 Dots & flowers The background is stamped with Hero Art Soft Blossom ink & the edges distressed with Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick Distress ink. The main Images were stamped with Versamark ink and covered with mica pigment (e.g. Perfect Pearls or Cosmic shimmers).

Thanks for taking the time to hear my Hero story and have fun visiting the other blogs today.

Thanks for sharing your story! Loved reading it, and your card is gorgeous! I was baffled as to how you were able to do "reverse inking" on that flourish, but I think I get it now since you mentioned the pigment powders.

Wow, I'm learning so much about everyone from this hop. Cathy, your cards are amazing and the little time that I've gotten to "know" you through the flickr group, you've been amazing. Always with a kind word about everyones cards. Thank you.

Hi, Cathy! Beautiful card! I like the way you've done the Feather Grass as a resist, but let part of it extend beyond the circle. So perfect! I also love the Dots and Flowers background with a bit of distressing around the edges! Happy Blog Hopping! :-)
