I decided to stamp a flower from the Penny Black To You clear set with versafine ink onto gloss coated card and heat set to see if it would work...when I touched it with my finger it SMUDGED!
So the idea of smudge colouring was born and I continued to rub my finger over the rest of the image. I then went over the original stamped lines with a permanent marker to add definition then cut out and mounted onto card that had been cut out with a spellbinders labels die and stamped with Penny Black Paisly outline cling. The ribbon was kindly sent to me by Tiffany - big thank you Tiff!
So should I trash it or is it a triumph?
Here is a close up of the flower
And an angled shot, I tried to lift the leaf and petals to add definition

Definitely a triumph, love it.
It's a keeper! I like the look.
Fun, Cathy - a keeper for sure! Very nice effect!
Are you kidding?! DO NOT throw this away! It's so lovely, Cathy!
I think it really has a wonderful look and feel to it! You re-vamped it from what was initially the smudge and turned the flower into the focal pt. that you could use! So definitely a triumph! Something you could salvage, great work!
It's BEAUTIFUL!! I could never tell your process of the "mistake"!! Absolutely gorgeous--just the way it is!
No doubt about it - triumph!
