Hubbie's Birthday Card

Last week my Hubbie became a year older (not that he would like to admit it!), So I thought I would share the card that I made for him.

I stamped 'Your Way' 40-130 onto white card  four times and coloured with the following Copic Markers B0000, E50, E51, Y15, E37, C5, R29, C7, B23, B26, 100, W5, W7, BG72, E31, E33, YG00, YG03, YG17, Y08, YR16, YG13, YG25 and Marvy Alcohol marker E865.

I cut out parts of the image as shown below to allow the image to be decoupaged. The bottom layer was cut using spellbinders wonky rectangles and shaded with Shabby Shutters and Antique Linen distress ink.  Once decoupaged it was then mounted onto 'Fern Green' 05-003 Mix and Match Cardstock
Here is a side view of the card to illustrate the layers.
Thanks for visiting me today and for all your wonderful comments, I really appreciate them.

Hugs Cathy

Great card, I bet it took absolutely ages to do all the cutting :)

Goodness that was some cutting but certainly worth it for the detail of the decoupaging. I love the way you coloured all those wired differently & the way the desk extends beyond the inner wonky rectangle's edge.
Hope he had a good day.

First off, it's so hard to find card ideas for husbands that would really appeal to a man. This is wonderful! I always aim for a bit of humor for my DH's cards. This is just the right level of whimsy to make a man smile. Secondly, this technique of layering a picture could be used for so many different cards. When I saw this I immediately thought of the card I was planning for my DH, a man riding a motorcycle. This technique will really make it pop. Thanks. Perfect timing. Have to do it this week.
