Hi Everyone, today I am guest designer over at the Faber Castell Design Memory Craft® blog, to see my latest video technique tutorial and card click here.
I have been playing with Mixed Media Aquarelle and Ink sets to get a co-ordinated look on my cards and came up with these two little cards as bonus projects.
Here is a closer look at the red one which as been stamped with the flower from 'Flowers Sweet' 30-096 and mounted onto a white embossed card with a stamped panel using Spun Sugar as a base and Worn Lipstick for the pattern using 'Flower Flourish' 40-136, the sentiment is from 'Sentiments' 30-025. I have also added some step by step pictures showing how to colour the petals.
The flower was stamped onto pearl white card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I then coloured the stems and leaves with Stampers Big Brush May Green 170 from the Mixed Media Aquarelle and Ink set Green 770202 I then took the Red Aquarelle and Ink set 770200 to colour the petals.
I started with the lightest shade of Art GRIP®
Aquarelle water colour pencil; 119 and coloured around the edges of the petal with a medium pressure.
I then repeated the process going further in towards the centre of the petal with Art GRIP®
Aquarelle water colour pencil 125.
I then coloured the rest of the petal with Art GRIP® Aquarelle water colour pencil 126.
The colours were then lightly blended together using a paintbrush and very little water.
To add greater depth to the centre of the petals I added a small amount of ink from a Stampers Big Brush Marker in Deep Scarlet Red 219 and blended with my finger (tip:- to prevent ink from drying before blending only colour a couple of petals at a time).
The centres of the flowers were then finished off with Art GRIP® Aquarelle water colour pencil 115 from the Mixed Media Aquarelles and Ink set Yellow 770201. The flower was then cut out leaving a small white border and mounted onto the card with foam pads.
Here is a closer look at the blue card, using the Mixed Media Aquarelle and Ink Blue set 770203. the background panel was stamped with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress ink.

Hope you are all having a great week.

Beautifully effective with the white base & the strip of co-ordinating stamping/inking for the flower's background. Thanks for the detailed photos of the colouring - very helpful.
