Christmas Card Ping Pong

Do you recall a post I wrote last year explaining how a friend and I challenge each other to use the card they already sent adapt it and send it back the following year?  You can see last year's post here.

Well I forgot to take a before photo in my rush to create my new card this year so a description will have to do....my friend took a village scene that I had stamped and then created a branch tree to add to it  with some colourful glitter baubles.   This reminded me of our 'modern twig tree' in the home this year and so created this through the window scene to send back to her (the view through the window and card blank were all recycled).

Recycled Christmas Card

I also decorated an envelope here

Recycled christmas card and Envelope

For this project I used Winter Illumination 40-174 and Berry Red Snow White 4202L

I stamped winter illumination onto a a piece of white card, cut out the window panes and then coloured with copics, added glitter to the snow and placed a vellum strip across the bottom with a Christmas peel off.

I then added embossed lines to the sides and mounted onto the original card.

The envelope was stamped and a shadow created by stamping a second time without re-inking.  The snow drifts were then sponged on for added effect.

Tomorrow I have a ribbon Christmas step by step project to share with you. Hope you are having a great weekend.

Hugs Cathy

This is absolutely intriguing & I love your envelope. That's one of the things I'm determined to work on this year - scenery sponging with silhouettes. It's such a classy elegant technique & you've demonstrated it beautifully with the envelope.
