Rose Trellis

Do you get excited when new toys craft products land on your doorstep?  I certainly do, I just want to rip open the packaging and get playing creating straight away.

Here is my first card using the wonderful new Bed of Roses cling 40-190 and Spellbinders Fancy Lattice (love how intricately this cuts out).

Rose Trellis

I stamped the roses onto white card using Memento Black ink, coloured with Copic markers, spritzed with goosebumps and then cut out one cluster of flowers to place on my card with a few extra leaves. Tip, don't worry about cutting round thin stalks, just cut off completely and replace them with black wire

I then tore two strips of vellum and stamped and embossed the sentiment from the Gratitude set 30-105. Tip, when tearing vellum if you tear towards you, you get a white border along the tear, if you tear away the edge is not as defined.

I then mounted the roses and sentiment onto the trellis cut using the Spellbinders Fancy Lattice and Storm 01-001 mix and match card.  This was then layered over Fern Green 05-002 mix and match card using foam pads and then onto kraft and white card.

To finish off I added a rose pink satin ribbon with a diamond buckle (not real diamonds of course!!!).

This reminds me of an English country cottage garden.

Hugs Cathy

Cathy, this is beautiful. This will make a lovely Mother's day card. Love that trellis and you flowers are so pretty. I think embossing on the vellum and tearing it was a beautiful touch to the card. That caught my eye. Thanks for sharing.

Wehn I saw this on the PB post I thought the rose ribbon was the same colour as the Kraft card stock - amazing how superbly it works with it & the delicate rose colouring of your image. I particularly like the way that trellis in white softens the green card stock behind & how you've allowed the green to extend beyond the trellis to create an additional border. That green echoes your green colouring of those leaves too (hmmm - my husband always says I pick green things!!). Love the double vellum.

Fabulous Cathy - love how you have used the stamp, and the trellis is a delight - another item for my must have list..... Your vellum treatment is a great detail - as is the ribbon and buckle.
