Got Mail

My husband has always said I should decorate my envelopes as well as creating cards and guess what Penny Black seem to agree with him! They have brought out a clear stamp set called Air Mail just for this purpose, although I can also see great potential for this set to decorate envelopes I can also see it being used for card making too! Why don't you hop on over to the Penny Black Blog Here to see what the design team have come up with. Here are a few examples of envelopes I have created using this set.

Materials used;-
Penny Black Air Mail Clear Stamp Set 30-072
Inktense Pencils; Violet, Iris Blue, Golden Yellow, Cadmium Orange, Fern, Lagoon, Ionian Green, Bright Blue, Cadmium Yellow, Field Green, Cherry, Crimson, Tangerine & Carmine Pink. Glossy Accents, Versafine Onyx Black, Spanish Moss & Olympia Green. Blue pastel crayon, Marvy Le Plume Pen Jungle Green & blue. Quickie glue pen and gold foil.

Curve frame from mail art set onto acrylic block and ink with spanish moss, stamp hills. Then stamp houses with versafine black ink leaving space between for trees. Ink the trees randomly with spanish moss and olympia green and stamp between houses. Mask off a rectangle and then stamp sun. Colour the houses and sun with inktense pencils (although they are watercolour, one dry the ink is permanent). Then add pastel chalk to background and spread around houses and sun with finger. Remove mask and draw round edge with Blue Le Plume pen, stamp "to" in black ink.  Outline trees with green pen and add glossy accents for dimension. When dry add quickie glue to black hearts and doors and once it has gone clear apply gold foil.

Materials:
Penny Black Air Mail Clear Set 30-072, Wow Vanilla White embossing powder, Memento Bahama blue ink, Versamark ink, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, Broken China & Chipped Sapphire.

Cut a circular mask and place in the centre of the envelope. Stamp tree with versamark ink in a snowflake pattern around the edge of the circle & emboss. Add distress inks to embossed area working out lightest to darkest colour. Remove mask and stamp "to".

Finally whilst making the envelopes above I made a few mistakes - like stamping the sun upside down, so I decided to disguise this with stickles and show you the rescued result in a different colour combination.
