Its all in the Brushstroke

Years ago I fell in love with the brushstroke range of stamps by Penny Black, they are perfect for giving that water colour effect without being an actual watercolour artist.

This week the designers have been sharing brushstroke projects on the Penny Black Blog here.

Today I am hosting the blog with this card

Materials Used: Penny Black Stamps 'Blush' 2666K, 'Silken Knots' 3362K, 'Flower Foil' White paper 60-007 and Sticks and Stones Mix and Match Cardstock 02-003.  Wild Honey and Shabby Shutters Distress Stains, Prisma Pencils; Moss Green, Lime Peel, Yellow Ochre, Golden Rod, Dark Brown and Sienna, EK Scallop Edger punch, Diamond Stickles, Paper Lace, Twine and Small Gem.

The White background paper was coloured with Wild Honey Distress Stain and mounted onto Sticks and Stones cardstock.  I then used the same distress stain together with Shabby Shutters to ink both stamps and stamp onto separate pieces of white card.  I added further shading with prisma pencils, matted and layered onto card as seen in the image above.  To add a subtle sparkle to the petals stickles was added and a bow and gem at the bottom for added interest.

Hope you have enjoyed visiting me today, thanks for all your wonderful comments
Hugs Cathy

This colour palette is a favourite of mine & I really love your artistic combination of several different stamps. The Stickles add a lovely touch & really help to pick out the gold of your Flower Foil background stamping. Your lace ruffle layering is very pretty & picks out the shape of the flowerhead beautifully. I've just sat feasting on this.
