It's all in the Scallop

This week, Casual Friday are hosting a challenge to create a card using scallops here.  Moxie Fab are also hosting a challenge to use cool tools here (mine is my sewing machine...not just for clothes and repairs - great for cards too - but remember to change the needle before you stitch any fabric again), so I thought I would create a card that incorporates both challenges, this is the result.

I used the waste card from the scallop edge to add a bit of interest to the inside of the card.

The card was created using white hammer for the card base and for the central panel. Penny Black's 'Gossamer' 3865K was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink and then coloured with Marvy Alcohol Markers V749, V757, V755, YG645 and YG634, Buttercup stickles was then added to the centres of the flowers and dots added to the petals with a Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pen #724.

The background mounts were cut using Spellbinders Classic Scallop Edgeabilities Dies, Penny Black's 'Fuchsia Fantasies' mix and match card stock 13-001 and 13-002 and the main image was then stitched onto the mounts using my sewing machine and plum coloured thread.  This was then mounted onto the white card blank and the waste from the scallops added to the inside of the card for added interest.

Thank you for visiting me today, if you would like more  card inspiration, Penny Black are showcasing Brushstroke stamps over on their blog here.

Thanks for visiting me today, have a lovely week.

Hugs Cathy

The way your sewing picks up the stitched effect of the flower petals is brillinat & I love those scallops. Your use of the "waste" for the inside is lovely. YOur pale blue shadowing of the image is ever so effective too.
