Image, Sentiment & Pattern

Over at the Casual Friday Challenge blog, this weeks theme is to create a card that is CAS and incorporates an Image, a Sentiment and a Pattern.  Full details of the challenge can be found here. I am also going to enter this in Virginia's View challenge over at Lilypad.

I have to say when the idea for this card popped into my head, I had no idea it would be so quick and easy to make.

The image is the 'Sunburst' flower 4236K , the sentiment is the  stem using the Happy Birthday message from '...Wishes' 30-103 and the Pattern is the Dots on the pot from Raindrop Background and the swirly top from 'A Little Bird' 30-102.

Here is how the card was created;

1) Stamp sunburst with Memento Potters Clay ink and colour with Prisma Pencils Yellowed Orange and Pale Vermillion, blend the colours together with blending oil and paper stump.

2) Stamp sentiment with Versafine Spanish Moss ink to create a stem and leaves.

3) Create a mask with Sizzix Plant Pot die and then colour pot with Broken China and Tumbled Glass distress ink, stamp over with raindrop background and swirls using Memento Paris Dusk ink

4) Add a button with twine to the centre of the flower, punch some dots down the side using Tim Holtz ruler, highlight dots with Wild Honey Distress ink and then mount onto 'Blue Lagoon' 05-003 Mix and Match Cardstock.

Hope you are all having a great weekend, the sun is shining here, yippee!

Hugs Cathy

Love the way you used that sentiment for the leaves & stem & your colouring of the flower petals is beautifully effective. It looks as if you had quite a lot of fun creating this too.

Very striking card. I am in awe of the flower pot - it has so much depth. And the pattern. So fun.
