Inspired by Andy Warhol

The other week  an Andy Warhol drawing made the news and became the inspiration for this card, I wanted to emulate his unusual colour choices and so took the  'Sunshine' 4235K sunflower stamp and chose bold contrasting colours to shade the flower. This week I will be sharing several different designs using this stamp.

The strong colours were achieved by using Derwent Inktense pencils on watercolour paper and the background was stamped with 'Letter Background'  1999L; this was then cut out using Spellbinders Labels Eight,  The sentiment from the 'Wishes' 30-103 set was stamped onto some scratch paper and then cut out using a banner in the Spellbinders Pennants die set.  This was then mounted onto 'Fuchsia Fantasies' 13-002 Mix and Match cardstock that has been embossed using a Sizzix folder. Some twine and a pearl was added to finish off the card.

I am entering this card in the Lily Pad challenge here.
Wishing everyone a lovely week
Hugs Cathy

Love these bright colors, Cathy, and what better flower to choose than a sunflower! Andy Warhol was well-known in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, my home town.

Very striking & I love the way taht leaf extends over the edge of the card base. The deep pink with red & the various greens make this very exotic. The intensity of the Inktense pencils is quite remarkable.
