Birthday Frame

Today the design team are sharing Birthday cards over on the Penny Black Blog here.  I chose to make something feminine for the occasion and came up with this card here.

I stamped 'Floral Frame' 40-134 with Bamboo Leaves Memento ink and then coloured the leaves with Copics YG95 and G99, and the flowers with RV55 & RV66. The whole area was then distressed with Shabby Shutters distress ink.  The frame was then cut out using Spellbinders Labels Four.

Separate leaves were then stamped and coloured from scrap card and highlights added with Copic White. Separate flowers were also stamped with Lilac Posies Memento ink and coloured as the base flowers. They were then shaped with an embossing tool and added to the frame with dimensional glue.  Pastel Raspberry liquid pearls were added to the buds and when dry the bases coloured with Copic RV66.

The sentiment from 'Sweet Wishes' 30-104 was stamped onto white card with Lilac Posies ink and the frame mounted onto with dimensional foam pads. A butterfly was stamped and cut out from 'Free Flight' 30-117 onto a scrap piece of card twice with Lilac Posies and the edges distressed with Seedless Preserves distress ink and added to the frame.

To finish the frame was mounted onto DCWV Latte card and the edges again distressed with Seedless Preserves. This was then mounted onto 'Fuchsia Fantasies' 13-003 Mix and Match Cardstock and hand stitched around the edge.

Join me tomorrow for some wedding inspiration.

Hugs Cathy

The detailed shaping & layering of the floral elements really makes this a beautiful frame & I love that butterfly. The colouring of those green leaves i terrific & I love how those streaks of white add such dimension.
