Colouring with Wet Embossing

Embossing powder gives a fabulous raised effect on cards and so I thought I would show you a card that has been coloured using embossing powders.

The background 'Summer Sun' 17-001Mix and Match cardstock has been stamped with Versamark ink using 'Allover Pattern' 40-109 and embossed with clear powder. The Sentiment 'Garden of Life' 4263F was stamped with Versafine Black ink and embossed with detail black powder.

The flower 'Blush' 2666K was stamped in stages and a stamp positioner used to ensure that each part matched up.  First I inked the stem using a Versamark pen and then embossed with WOW olive powder.  I then cleaned the stamp and made sure it was completely dry before inking the petals with the Versamark pen and embossed with Vanilla White WOW embossing powder.  Again after cleaning and drying, I inked the pollen with the Versamark pen and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Blush powder.  To add colour to the petals I applied some Versacolour inks in Canary and Scarlet using a damp paintbrush; the excess ink was then wiped off the embossed areas.  To finish I mounted the image onto 'Olive Grove' 04-003 Mix and Match Cardstock.

Tomorrow I will be back with a masked project. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Hugs Cathy

This is so effectve - I must admit I'm using my VersaMarker more & more but you've shown me something else to try.
Love the pop of colour with the pollen & your choice of colours for both embossing & the matching matting really enhances the whole.
