I love to experiment with new techniques and so I thought I would share with you something I tried recently using Black Scraper Board (also known as Claybord ~ available in art stores such as Blicks).
The board has a shiny surface with a black coating on top that can be stamped on and then scratched away to create your own artwork. I have done a video showing how to do this with the different tools used over on the Penny Black blog today here and this is a sneak peek at what you will find if you hop on over.
I have two projects using this technique to share with you here, a card and a gift card here they are together.
and here are close ups of each individual piece.
For this card I have used Reflection 40-218, Charms 30-173 and Sentiments 30-025
The tag uses Reflection 40-218 and Graceful 4313J
The images don't really do them justice, they really sparkle in real life, thanks for visiting me today and that it inspires you to try something new too!
Hugs Cathy

Really lovely cards. Great technique.
oh my word these are stunning...wow...
A very special technique for a 21st - these look stunning. I love your punched border on both items & the sheer elegance of these.

I've never heard of that paper, but will have to look for it when I can. Your cards are incredible, Cathy!
These are so beautiful Cathy! It reminds me of something we did in 5th grade art class, We colored our papers with crayons and then put some kind of black paint over it and then scratched in a design. Oh Wow! That was soooo long ago...thats why I hardly remember it. Anyway your pretty cards triggered the memory! Hugs :)
This brings back so many memories from the past. I too, like Marilyn, remember creating the paper with crayons. This is wonderful....you get to scratch without all the prep!!
Just wanted to let you know that I saw your video on the Penny Black blog and thought that it was so professional and well done! I would love to try this technique. I aready have some of the tools and those inks but now have to search for the scratchmagic. I love these cards as well! Love the girl with the flowers. I don't have the fiber brush, I may have to get my stamp store to order it. Thanks for sharing.
