Lots of Lovely Layers

Once a month I go to a craft group that meet up, we all bring along our own projects to work on and have a good old natter during the process. The only problem I have at this group is that I spend far too much time nattering rather than crafting.

All I achieved last time was to stamp one tiny image!!!  Well I took that image home and set about making it into a card and this is the result.

Wedding Silhouette

I stamped Penny Black's Silhouettes 40-239 onto white card twice using Versafine ink and cut the frame out of one of the stamped images.  The edge was then inked with Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink and chalked over to give an antique glow.

I lightly coloured the flowers in the bouquet using Cosmic Shimmer Acrylic Drawing inks Magenta Flame and Meadow Lush.  The whole image was then sealed with Beacon Adhesives Fast Finish Decoupage and an additional layer added once dried.

Several mounts were then cut and embossed using my Grand Calibur Machine GC-001 and the following dies; Opulent Ovals S5-160, Gold Labels Four S4-190 and Grand Big Scalloped Ovals LF-251.  The edges of the cut outs were inked with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress ink and chalked before removing from the die. (The scallop shape was cut twice so that it could be made into the card blank and faux stitched with a black marker pen)

Black satin ribbon was threaded through the bottom of the Gold Labels Four shape and a bow added.  Love from the transparent stamp set Lace Delight 30-115 was stamped onto a scrap of white card using Versafine ink and cut and embossed using Spellbinders Labels Four S4-190.  Again the insides were inked before removing from the die and then sealed with Beacon Adhesives Fast Finish Decoupage.  Two split jewellery rings were then threaded through the die cut and the ribbon.   Pearls were then added to the die cut layers to finish the card.

I love going to the craft group as I get to see what everyone else is making, as well as sharing techniques with each other.

Have a great week
Hugs Cathy
