Todays card was inspired by a Penny Black sticker Mauve Twilight 10-198 available here. I loved the distressed look of the background with the writing faded and the variation in colours in the background.
Did you know Penny Black do 12 x 12 Patterned papers? Well I started with a sheet of 12 x 12 called shades of Red 70-058, I then stamped the sparkle burst from the Trims clear set 30-068 available here in archival plum ink down one side.
When dry I stamped the letter background 1999L using Versamark and then added vanilla white embossing powder from WOW, I then took a brush and brushed of some of the powder to give it an aged and distressed look before heat setting. The edges of the paper were then distressed with Tim Holtz tonic edge distresser and then inked with Aged Mahogany distress ink (this ink is a perfect match with Mix and Match Rose Garden Card stock). The edge of the paper was then curled and mounted onto Rose Garden Mix and Match Card Stock 14-003 available here.
Pinstriped 4161K available here, was then stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a separate piece of white card stock twice. This was then coloured with Copic Markers G99, YG95, YR07, YR15, R17and R59. The stamen and edges of the leaves were then outlined with a Sakura Glaze pen. The flowers were then fussy cut and layered onto main card with dimensional glue. A silk bow was added and the Thanks part of the bid thanks sentiment 00107D was stamped onto some scrap card and added to finish.
Gosh that was rambling...well done if you made it to the end of the post! Don't forget to check out this weeks Penny Black Blog and Challenge here.
