Hexagons Everywhere...but NOT Here!

I often browse through cyberspace looking at all the amazing card designs out there and recently there has been a strong theme of using hexagons.

I wanted to have a go at making a card incorporating them and so dug out my Madison 80-001 paper pad and my Spellbinders dies only to discover that I did not own a hexagon die but an octagon one!  But I would not let that stop me, so I used the smallest die and cut out several octagons from the patterned paper and then mounted them in a symmetrical pattern down the side of the card. This is the result.

Tissue paper fluttery

The butterfly was made by scrunching up some tissue paper and then colouring it with Tumbled Glass and Broken China distress stains, I then let it dry and then re-scrunched and spritzed with Peacock green cosmic shimmer spray.  Once dry I then embossed the butterfly from Social Butterfly 30-116 and cut out.  The sentiment from Salutations  30-014 was then added to finish off the card.

Thank you for visiting me today and for all your comments

It's very effective using the octagons - love the way that butterfly pops against the white & the way the patterned papers really add interest.
